This new 7.5 km long line begins in C/Fontilles, next to the Market in Nazaret, and travels through Camino de las Moreras, over the RENFE tracks and continues up to the Saler roundabout. From here, it runs down the middle of Avda. Antonio Ferrandis (Bulevar Sur) and through C/General Urrutia and C/Luis Santangel until Avda. Reino de Valencia.
From there, it goes to the intersection where C/Luis Sanatangel meets Avda. Reino de Valencia and travels towards the centre via this avenue and later via Gran Vía Germanias and C/Alicante. This route named LINE 2 SUR (South) ends at the Alacant station, next to the future Central Railway Station of Valencia, in the vicinity of C/Segorbe.
The route named LINE 2 CENTRO (Centre) leaves Alacant station and goes on to connect with Lines 3 and 5 at the Xàtiva station, with all the corresponding platforms and pedestrian walkways in place which allow transfer between these services and Line 2. After this station, the route continues along C/Marqués de Sotelo and the Plaza del Ayuntamiento until it reaches the planned El Mercat station under Plaza Ciudad de Brujas.
The line continues north, underneath the buildings in C/Bolsería and C/San Miguel until reaching the El Carme station situated at Plaza Tavernes de Valldigna. From this point, there are two separate tunnels which pass between Plaza Na Jordana and the IVAM (Valencia Museum of Modern Art) Centre in the Carmen district until coming our underneath the riverbed until the line ends at the Els Serrans station, situated in the old Turia riverbed opposite the Torres de Serranos. This station offers the chance for travellers to connect with Line 4.
It is expected that line 2 will continue towards the north of the city, connecting with the Orriols and Torrefiel districts and reaching as far as Tavernes Blanques. Similarly, the route will extend westwards via another branch which will connect with the current Line 4. Studies are being carried out on how the route could be designed in the Bulevar de Almassora.
