DESCRIPTION

Underground section which travels down C/General Urrutia from Avda. de la Plata until Avda Peris y Valero, and C/Luis Santangel.

PROGRESSION OF THE WORK

The execution of the screens and upper vault has been finished in C/General Urrutia. The urban development work has been completed and the street was reopened to traffic in September 2008, except for the area next to Avda. de la Plata where the access ramp to the tunnel is located. The excavation of the tunnel interior has also been carried out and the foundation slab for both the tunnel and the General Urrutia station was built.

The works in C/ Luis Santangel have affected both that street and the corresponding intersections with Avda. Peris y Valero, C/ Matías Perelló y C/ Pedro III el Grande. The intersection with Avda. Peris y Valero was carried out between April and August 2008. C/ Matías Perelló was reopened to traffic in February 2009 and the section of C/ Luis Santangel between C/ Matías Perelló and Avda. Peris y Valero was reopened to traffic in March 2009. The works restoring the condition of C/ Luis Santangel were finished in September 2009 with the resumption of normal traffic flow. The work in the interior of the tunnel was terminated in October 2009.

Avda. Peris y Valero-Luis Oliag Subsection

An underground car park was recently opened in C/General Urrutia between Avenida Peris y Valero and C/ Luis Oliag. In addition to the car park promoted by the Valencia City Council, the infrastructure for the section of the underground running underneath the car park was also built.

The Regional Ministry focused specifically on building the screens and roof slabs in the section of the tunnel running underneath the car park, carrying out excavation work, placing the tracks and overhead lines, etc. without affecting the car park.
